We will now have a limited number of tickets available for our main swimming sessions for the public. Please note pre-booking online is required, and our under 8’s policy applies. If a session is full please choose another session.

Priority booking is given to Holiday Resort Unity guests due to a large reduction in capacity for COVID safety therefore public tickets are and will be restricted for the foreseeable future and may be withdrawn at any time.

Entry is via the outside gates and therefore unfortunately at this time we are unable to refund resident passes car parking, we are currently looking at how we can administer this.

Here is a brief summary of what will be required to ensure everyone’s safety

  2. Sessions will either be for 45 minutes (lane swim/ family session) with 15 minutes to leave or 75 minutes with 15 minutes to leave. This allows us to clean the facilities between each session.

  3. Swimmers are required to come 'swim-ready' to reduce the need to use the changing rooms. Ie swimming costume/ shorts under your clothes, please.

  4. On arrival please use the hand sanitiser station.

  5. You will notice some cubicles will be marked with a red X and locked to prevent use. Some lockers will also be locked off.

  6. Please as usual shower before entering the water.

  7. Social distancing applies at all times. Parents are responsible for ensuring children comply, please keep your family group together and social distance from others both in and out the water

  8. All pools have a reduced capacity which will be carefully managed by admission numbers with the pre-booking system and once within the waterpark.

  9. Spectators will not be permitted unless paying the admission price.

  10. Follow floor signage and posters for your safety.

  11. There will be attention to the cleaning of high-frequency touchpoints.

  12. All areas of the waterpark will be open apart from the River Ride and baby pool due to the inability to social distance.

  13. Our lanes and family session will run daily in the morning from 8:30am in the 25m pool and baby pool. Please note this may change as we adapt to the new normal.

  14. We hope to have a lane in the 25m pool at all times during the day, but again this may change due to our new ways of operating.

  15. You can use the shower and changing rooms after use however where possible please return home and shower.

  16. If you book a session but can no longer attend please cancel. If you book a free ticket and don’t cancel and you book another session within 24 hours you will be refused entry

  17. Please do not attend if you have any COVID symptoms. Please cancel your ticket.

  18. Once a session is full further sessions will be released.

Gym update

We are currently verifying your membership status. So long as you haven’t cancelled your direct debit this will be re-activated at your next payment date and you are welcome to book and visit from 25 July.  If you pay by lump sum we will extend your membership by the length of time we have been closed since the end of March.

If you cancelled your direct debit and wish to re-join please contact DFC direct.

We have assessed the gym floor area and will also be making use of the air conditioned party rooms within Brean Play to re-allocate some equipment for your comfort. The punch bags, battle ropes and some of the dunk balls have however been removed on a temporary basis. We will be periodically fogging the gym with a fine mist sanitiser and increasing the frequency of cleaning of high touch points.

  1. There is no need to pre book your gym session. We will be monitoring numbers to ensure that capacity is met but we do not foresee this to be a problem. The maximum capacity at any point is 20 people across both areas. We do not feel that we will reach capacity at any one time.  A fitness team member will be present to monitor this.

  2. Please come ready to work out and avoid bring any un-necessary items with you. On the gym floor please do not bring any excess clothing or towels. Disposable hand towel is provided.

  3. The sauna and steam room remain closed under government instruction.

  4. Please sanitise your hands when you arrive and again before you depart.

  5. Within the gym you will find an additional hand sanitiser station and sanitiser spray for you to use with hand towel if you wish to.

  6. We ask for you not to use the showers within the changing rooms where possible but they are available should you wish to use them.

  7. To start with classes will not be available. We will look to re-introduce these very soon in the next couple of weeks.

Gym opening times. To start with we are running to a reduced operating schedule. We will continually assess this. Monday to Friday we will be open 9am – 7pm. Saturday and Sunday 9am – 6pm. We will be closed 1-1.30pm for a full clean of the areas as whilst we will be cleaning continuously shutting for a short period allows us to sanitise all touch points at once.

Please speak to a team member if you have any queries what so ever and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Swim School update

Preparing for a safe return for the swim school

We have been busy planning the safe return of the swim school. This has involved us completing our swim school risk assessment and procedures in conjunction with Swim England COVID guidelines. Our swim teachers have also received COVID training.

Things will therefore be a little bit different as your child’s safety and our team’s safety is our first priority.

Changes

  1. We ask where possible a maximum of one adult per child within the complex and where possible please do not bring any siblings.

  2. Please do not bring your child to their lesson if they or any of your household is displaying any COVID symptoms. Please ring us to advise you will not be attending on 01278 752113 choosing the swim school option.

  3. Over 11’s are required to wear a face-covering when inside the complex (other than in the water) please play your part in adhering to government guidelines. This includes the reception areas, changing areas and spectating area.

  4. Upon arrival please use the hand sanister station at reception.

  5. Please ensure your child comes ‘swim ready’ for their lesson. This means costume/shorts on under their clothes.

  6. We are operating to a one way system. The family rooms corridor is the way in and either the changing rooms or spectator corridor is the way out. Please follow this.

  7. The changing rooms may be used for removing clothes but please social distance from others.

  8. To avoid congestion with swimmers leaving the pool we ask you and your child to be ready on the poolside in the marked zone for your lesson 5 minutes before the start. This then means the children leaving the pool can do so without clashing with you. If you arrive late please speak to reception who will see if they can safely escort you through. The accompanying adult is required to keep the swimmers bag (don’t use a locker) and then sit on the marked grandstand area.

  9. Please encourage your child to shower on the poolside before your lesson.

  10. Teachers will not be able to teach from within the water in line with Swim England guidance. They have all received COVID training and further training regarding teaching from the poolside. If you child is at level 1 (beginner) these lessons will take place in the baby pool. If you wish to accompany them in the water for your first lesson you may do. In doing so please ensure when in the water you socially distance from others.

  11. Teachers also will be unable to help with goggles so please have a practice with your child and be on standby to assist during their lesson if required. We would like children with longer hair (below the chin) to wear a swim hat this can help their progress a lot.

  12. Lessons will be taking place in the whole 25m pool which means unfortunately at this time we will be unable to offer a pre or post lesson swim.

  13. After your lesson we encourage your child to get changed and leave via the spectator corridor and shower at home. There is another hand sanitiser point on the spectator door.

  14. All swimming aids will be cleaned before and after use. If you would prefer for your child to have their own float you may bring this with you.

We are confident your child will continue to progress with their swimming under COVID procedures. Please feel free to discuss any concerns with Jenny our swim school co-ordinator by emailing swim-teacher@brean.com
